NECF 40-Day prayer & fasting 2025

From August 7th to September 15th, our church will be joining believers nationwide in the NECF 40-Day Prayer and Fasting Season. This year's theme is, "Walking in the Fear of God,". It invites us to explore what it truly means to honor and revere the Lord in every aspect of our lives—personally, professionally, and as a community of faith.

We believe that only God can truly transform us, and He is actively at work, shaping us into the likeness of Christ. This season is a precious opportunity to seek Him wholeheartedly, cooperate with His divine work, and pray together for ourselves, our church, and our beloved nation.

We warmly invite you to journey with us and deepen your walk with God during these 40 days by:

1) Picking up a NECF Devotional Booklet. This specially prepared devotional booklet by NECF is available in English, Mandarin, and BM. Simply look for Hui Min outside the sanctuary after service. A small contribution of RM2 helps cover the cost of these booklets. This booklet is to guide your devotion, meditation on His Word, and prayer. UPDATE: Booklets are sold out.

2) For our Sunday School families, the children's version of the devotional are also available. You can pick them up from Joel and Soo Ann.

3) If you prefer to go digital, you can download the PDF file from the NECF website but they have specially created an app that offers all the daily devotions in both written and video forms in all our main languages including the children’s version. Just go to your play or apple store and search for NECF Malaysia then click install. Hui Min will be happy to help you at the counter where the booklets are after service.

4) Join our weekly corporate prayer meetings. We will meet weekly over zoom during that period for a time of uniting our hearts to come together to pray as a church family. There's immense strength and blessing when we seek God's face collectively. We will have a special closing gathering in person at the end of this prayer and fasting period. Details will be announced closer to the date.

As we prepare for this enriching season, we encourage you to:

1) Ask God how He is inviting you to seek Him personally during these 40 days. What might He be nudging you to pay attention and commit to?

2) Find community and accountability! Whether it's connecting with a prayer partner, engaging with your life group, or joining our corporate prayer meetings, remember the promise of Matthew 18:20: "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them." Also, it is not easy to pray, let alone fast and pray regularly but when we have people to do it with us, we are strengthened and encouraged.

We are looking forward to embark on this special time of seeking the Lord with you, believing it will be a time of deep personal growth and powerful corporate intercession. Take note of these dates:

1) Join the Kick off prayer meeting will be on 6 August (this upcoming Wednesday), 8PM via Zoom.

2) Join the weekly corporate prayer meetings on every wednesdays 8PM via Zoom. The dates are listed in the slides. We will meet weekly over zoom during that period for a time of uniting our hearts to come together to pray as a church family.

3)  Join the special closing gathering in person at the end of this prayer and fasting period. This will be held in church, 15 September (Monday, a public holiday) at 7PM – 9PM.
